But what if taking a break (even just 5 minutes or so) to do something different, to take a walk or to sit quietly and just breathe could actually help you get more things done?
Would you be willing to give it a try? It really does work. I didn’t believe it at first either, but it does work. Give it a try.
A recent study showed that about 20% of employees no longer take a lunch break because they’re afraid their boss will think they’re not working hard enough and that they’ll be judged by their co-workers.
This can also be true for those who work for themselves, sometimes even more so. They have a lot to do, and feel that taking a break (even a lunch break) would affect their productivity.
The studies show the opposite. Taking regular breaks has many benefits, including:
- Increased productivity
- Improved mental well-being
- Boosts creativity
- Improved self-care
