Slow down and listen – to yourself. Have you ever found yourself wondering how to solve a problem, accomplish or change something and you turn it over and over in your head searching for a solution but nothing seems to come to you?
The more you think about it the more challenging and frustrating the situation becomes. You know there must be a solution but you cannot find it.
Consider that the answer may not be coming to you because you’re not slowing down enough to listen or tune into it. The more you think and worry and try to find the solution, the further away it seems.
This is why meditation is so helpful, because it’s an opportunity for your mind to slow down enough for answers and insights to come to you. If you have trouble meditating, however, you can find some other way to slow your mind down enough for the answers to emerge.
Journaling can be very helpful for this. When you regularly take time to write down everything that’s going through your mind, it helps your mind to calm down. Going for a walk, soaking in a hot bath, or exercising are also ways of slowing down your mind or channeling your mental energy into something else.
What are some ways you use to slow down so you can really listen to your wise inner voice (as opposed to the frantic mind chatter)? How can you incorporate more of this into your daily routine?
This affirmation will help:
“I am willing to slow down, relax and really listen to my inner guidance. I have all the support I need.”
