
Release your fear of mistakes - everyone makes mistakes. Everyone gets something wrong from time to time. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t. The more afraid you are of making mistakes, the more likely you are to make them.
When something doesn’t work out the way you wanted it to or thought it should or you did something the wrong way, it’s simply an opportunity to learn. Now you know that’s not the right way, you can try something else.
Perfectionists have a real fear of making mistakes - as a recovering perfectionist I know this only too well. But I have learned that people really don’t care if you make a mistake, what they care about is how you handle it and what you do afterwards.
I like this quote from American basketball player and coach John Wooden: “If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not doing anything. I’m positive that a doer makes mistakes.”
Making mistakes is the only way to learn what works and what doesn’t.
