Learn to celebrate – we tend to celebrate only the big things in life, such as birthdays, anniversaries, getting a new job, etc., but what about your everyday successes?

You accomplish a lot more than you give yourself credit for, so it’s a good idea to start acknowledging yourself more. Often though, your expectations for yourself may be so high that you simply expect yourself to accomplish these things as a matter of course and think it’s no big deal when you do.

Taking a moment to acknowledge yourself when you complete something, learn something new or overcome a challenge, and celebrating even in small ways gives your energy a boost and actually helps you accomplish more.

At the end of the day I used to focus more on what didn't get done on my "To Do List" than what I actually accomplished. The result was I felt bad about myself and inadequate. To shift things, I began a journal that lists what I do accomplish each day, with colored stars next to the ones that really excite me, especially ones I'd procrastinated or was hesitant to do. Now I go to bed feeling more capable and celebrated!
